SANFORD, Fla. – The lead detective in the case against George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watchman charged with murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, has hired Casey Anthony's former lead attorney Jose Baez to represent him.
Baez has been hired to represent Chris Serino, a former Sanford police investigator who came under fire after his interviews with Zimmerman were released and evidence showed he filed an arrest affidavit, even when former Police Chief Bill Lee announced there wasn't enough evidence to arrest Zimmerman.

Baez gained fame by representing Anthony, who was acquitted in the death of her daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony, in July 2011.
