Man uses child to steal iPads in Daytona Beach, says police

Police say man asked to use restroom, next to storage room, to change child's diaper

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Police are investigating after several iPads, iPhones and other electronics were stolen Thursday from a store in Daytona Beach.

According to Daytona Beach police, the suspect appeared to have entered the AT&T store, located at 1500 Beville Road, with a small child and asked to use the restroom in order to change the child's diaper.

After the man and child left the store, police said an employee noticed the storage room was open and numerous electronic devices were missing.

Authorities said the storage room is adjacent to the restroom.

At this point, store representatives are conducting an inventory to determine their exact loss.
