Tate then approached the homeowner, shoved her against the wall, struck the homeowner's daughter in the stomach and ran out of the garage, police said.

Police said they found Tate in the area of Hampton Apartments near Metrowest Boulevard and found 26 quarters and two nickels, totaling $6.60, in his pocket, along with a box cutter.

Also found in Tate's backpack was a Samsung cellphone, digital Kodak camera and iPhone with a cracked front screen, according to police.
