VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A family will soon be reunited with their pet dog after Volusia County firefighters rescued the family from a car wreck.
The accident happened on northbound Interstate 95 in the Edgewater area on Tuesday afternoon when the driver lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle rolled over several times.
The driver and another adult had to be cut from the wreckage, but are expected to recover, fire officials said.
They were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The dog was in the back seat and was found injury-free by Volusia County firefighters on scene.
The family is from New York, so the dog will stay with animal services until everyone gets out of the hospital.
