Teen shot after fight in Publix, Orlando police say

Teen listed in stable condition

ORLANDO, Fla. – Police say there was a fight between several teens at the bakery area inside the Publix that escalated into gunshots.

Orlando police quickly responded.

"It was crowded," said Lt. David Arenas. "It's unreal that something like this could happen inside a Publix after Christmas shopping."

Police said an 18-year-old was shot and was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

A man who didn't want Local 6 to use his name said he saw two guys running through his neighborhood behind the store right after the shooting.

"It was a little shocking. You could tell they were a little frantic and something obviously had happened," he said.

Police kept two men detained inside different patrol cars while they reviewed surveillance video inside the store, but so far no arrests have been made.
