OCALA, Fla. – A 3-month-old girl died in Ocala early Thursday after her mother found her with a plastic bag over her face, according to police.
Ocala police said officers were called to an apartment around 2:40 a.m. about an unresponsive baby.

The infant's mother, Tyecka Evans, said she woke up in the living room and discovered that her daughter had crawled over a pillow and had a plastic bag over her face, according to police.
The child was taken to Munroe Regional Medical Center and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police contacted the Florida Department of Children and Families, and an investigation into the death is ongoing.
No other details have been released.
