Man, 83, killed after driving into ditch, Daytona Beach police say

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – An 83-year-old man was killed in a crash on Tuesday morning after Daytona Beach police say the man drove into a ditch.

Robert Elzey, of South Daytona, was driving a 2011 Scion southbound on Williamson Boulevard at 10 a.m. Tuesday when his vehicle veered over and across northbound lanes, landing in a ditch, according to the report.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Police said Elzey died at Halifax Hospital and next-of-kin was notified.

The manner and cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, according to police.
