Beachgoers help stranded great white shark

CHATHAM, Mass. – Most beachgoers would run the other way if they saw a shark on the beach, but that wasn't the case when a great white washed up on a Massachusetts beach.

Beach visitors rushed to help the 7-and-a-half foot male shark Monday, with some splashing water in the shark's gills to help it breathe.

The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy worked with the harbormaster to get the shark back out to sea. They say the young shark was hunting for food, but accidentally stranded himself.
