Psychedelic mushrooms, narcotics found in luggage, CBP officers say

Marijuana, hashish, marijuana-infused cookies, mushroom kits seized

SANFORD, Fla. – A 37-year-old woman has been arrested after marijuana, hashish and psychedelic mushrooms were found in her luggage, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said.

CBP officers at Orlando-Sanford International Airport discovered the narcotics in the woman's luggage during a secondary examination.

Authorities said the officers seized more than 3 ounces of marijuana, hashish, marijuana-infused cookies and multiple mushroom kits.

"Our CBP officers work hard every day to prevent dangerous drugs from entering the United States," Orlando-Sanford International Airport Port director Frederick Ryner said. "This is a great example of our officers' commitment to protect America."

CBP officers arrested the woman -- a U.S. citizen who was arriving from Amsterdam -- and turned the evidence over to the Drug Enforcement Administration, officials said.
