Man wanted in Ormond-by-the-Sea home invasion shooting

Cops: Michael McCoy, 20, struck in head, leg

ORMOND-BY-THE-SEA, Fla. – Volusia County deputies obtained an arrest warrant on Wednesday for the suspect in a home invasion shooting.

Kevin Michael Marino, 25, is wanted on charges with robbery with a firearm and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Marion is 5 feet 11 inches tall and 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information on his whereabouts can contact the Sheriff's Office at 386-323-0151 or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 888-277-TIPS.

The home invasion shooting was reported Tuesday at a home in the 100 block of Roberta Drive in Ormond-by-the-Sea.

Three men entered the home brandishing firearms and demanding money, investigators learned. Six people were in the home when the incident occurred. Deputies said two of the people inside were in a back bedroom and did not witness the incident.

The men fired at least one shot during the home invasion.

Deputies said Michael McCoy, 20, was struck in the head and leg. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, and he was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach and released.

Two people from the home initially attempted to take McCoy to the hospital themselves, but ultimately stopped for help at the Americano Beach Lodge in Daytona Beach, deputies said.

The investigation is ongoing.
