MINNEOLA, Fla. – One person was hurt after a small plane crash at Gator Air Field in Groveland Saturday, Lake County Fire Rescue officials said.
An ultra-light aircraft crashed on Libby No. 3 Road in Minneola.
Officials said the single-engine experimental plane that was occupied by one person reportedly dropped from 500 feet in the sky.
The plane was doing touch-and-gos when the engine area of the plane started to smoke.
The person hurt was treated as a trauma alert patient, officials said. Officials said the pilot is at the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Groveland Fire and Clermont Fire crews arrived at the scene.
No other details were given.
