Why pre-rinsing might be making your dishes dirtier

More dirt may be better for your dishes

Could prerinsing your dishes make them dirtier instead of cleaner?

Consumerreports.org reports that if your rinsing your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, that could be the reason you still have bits of food stuck to them.

A sensor is included in most of the dishwashers that have been sold in the previous five years, which helps decide the degree of washing needed.

It will begin with rinsing the dishes, then determines the quality of the water. After determining the quality of water, it gauges the amount of water and time to get everything clean.  The sensor will misread the dishes as adequately clean if you have already rinsed most of the dirt off.

Just scrape off bits of food and do not rinse to avoid this predicament.
