Volusia County Fire Department says the fire started around 9:30 a.m.

According to a representative with the market the fire started in Row F's south side of the complex.

"I came out and when I did they were still knocking the fire down," said Karen Miller, a vendor for 28 years.

Miller said she was notified of the fire from a friend. Luckily, her unit didn't receive much damage.

"Mine did not get wet. I do have smoke on my clothes," said Miller.

Her neighboring tenants didn't fair as well. Some of them lost everything.

"Devastating for my fellow tenants because I know they lost everything," said Miller.  "A lot of them. That's their only source of income."

It took firefighters about ten minutes to put the fire out.

The battalion chief said the fire left extensive fire, water and smoke damage, even causing parts of the roof to collapse.

"We are local people. We depend on local businesses. So come out and see us. Come out and help us rebuild," said Miller.

Authorities say an overloaded electrical circuit caused the fire.

The flea market will open as usual Friday.
