Shots fired during robbery at Marion County internet cafe, deputies say

OCALA, Fla. – A masked man armed with a handgun fired two rounds while robbing two internet cafe employees earlier this month, according to officials with the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

The manager told deputies he and another employee were leaving Emergency Response Educators and Consultants internet cafe in Ocala on Oct. 4 when a man wearing a black mask and black hoodie approached them and stole the keys from the manager as he was locking up, the report said.

The struggle began near the door of the business, then moved to the parking lot when the man talked the manager to the ground, then ended back near the door of the business as the man got loose from the victim's grip and ran away, surveillance video shows.

Deputies said the man fired a shot into the front door of the business and once into the air as he was running away. 

No one was injured during the incident.

CAN YOU IDENTIFY? On October 4, 2017, the individual in this video committed an armed robbery at an Internet Cafe located at 223 NE 58th Avenue in Ocala. The armed suspect approached two employees as they were leaving the business in the early morning hours and began a physical altercation with one of the victims. The altercation went into the parking lot and then back to the front of the business, where the suspect fired a shot into the front door. The suspect stole the keys to the business from the victim during the robbery, and as he left the location, he fired another shot into the air.
