OCALA, Fla. – A man who authorities say cut off an Ocala police cruiser, causing a crash, has been charged with DUI with property damage.

Ocala police Officer Daniel Collier was on his way to a call early Saturday morning when a car driven by Latrell Bertran Jay, 30, cut in front of his cruiser, leading to a crash. Collier's cruiser struck a gas station's business sign and pump, police said.

Collier was treated at a hospital for a head wound.

The Ocala Police Department said Jay had a blood alcohol level of 0.234, nearly three times the legal limit.

The department said Collier was expected to be OK.
