Ocala shooting leaves man in critical condition, police say

Authorities say there's no current threat to community

OCALA, Fla. – A man is in critical condition after a shooting Saturday morning, according to officials from the Ocala Police Department.

Police said the shooting happened just after 3 a.m. in a residential area near the intersection of Northeast 13th Street and Northeast 11th Avenue. They said there is no present threat to the community.

Officers said they found the man, later identified by police as 32-year-old Justin Allen, in the road with multiple gunshot wounds. He was still in critical but stable condition.

The Ocala Police Department obtained and executed a search warrant at a home believed to be where the shooting happened. Police said as a result of the warrant execution, Christopher Chung, 32, was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of THC derivative and felony possession of marijuana.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
