Man shot in Tavares home invasion, police say

No arrests made in shooting

TAVARES, Fla. – A 38-year-old man was shot in the stomach Monday night during a home invasion in Tavares, police said.

The shooting was reported around 9:30 p.m. on Rosewood Avenue.

The victim was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he underwent surgery, Tavares police Sgt. Jon Hall said.

The man's girlfriend was also in the home, but she was uninjured, police said.

It's believed that two intruders entered the home, but no arrests have been made.

Officers said Monday night that one person was taken into custody, but was later released.
