Body found in river near Colonial Drive identified

Investigation underway after body found in Little Econlockhatchee River

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A body was found Thursday afternoon in the Little Econlockhatchee River, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The incident was reported around 5:30 p.m. near Colonial Drive and North Econlockhatchee Trail.

Deputies on Friday identified the body as Alexis Leonel Correa-Rivera, 44. No foul play is suspected.

Officials said the discovery of the body was made by a passerby who saw what appeared to be a dead man floating in the water along the shoreline tangled in the vegetation near the bridge.

Deputies confirmed the body to be that of an adult male that appeared to have been there for a while, according to the Sheriff's Office.
