4 law enforcement officials involved in Brevard car crash, FHP says

Minor injuries involved

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – An officer with the Rockledge Police Department was taken to a hospital after a crash Friday night in the area of Seminole Drive and Longwood Avenue, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

About 6 p.m., a woman pulled out in front of a deputy at the intersection, and the woman’s car flipped, FHP spokesperson Kim Montes said.

The woman was taken to a hospital. The deputy wasn’t hurt, but his or her car sustained some damage, Montes said.

This is when three Rockledge police officers responded to the wreck. The first of the three officers didn’t slow down in time, according to troopers.

The second officer hit the first officer, and as a result, the third trailing officer rear-ended the second officer who had rear-ended the first, Montes said.

One of the Rockledge officers was then taken to a hospital.

All of the Rockledge vehicles are still drivable, Montes said.
