6 Central Florida schools receive an ‘A’ grade

ORLANDO, Fla. – Grades for the 2024-25 Florida academic year have been released.

In a news conference in Jacksonville on Monday, Gov. Ron DeSantis highlighted the statewide progress: 71% of public schools (2,461 schools) earned either an “A” or “B” grade, compared to 64% (2,215 schools) in 2024.

According to data from the Florida Department of Education (FDOE), overall, 28 districts received an “A” grade, 31 districts received a “B”, and eight districts earned a “C”. No districts received a “D” or an “F” grade.

  • Flagler County: B (2024: B)
  • Lake County: A (2024: B)
  • Marion County: B (2024: C)
  • Orange County: A (2024: A)
  • Osceola County: B (2024: B)
  • Polk County: B (2024: C)
  • Seminole County: A (2024: A)
  • Sumter County: A (2024: A)
  • Volusia County: A (2024: B)

The grades are largely based on student test scores; however, districts can earn points in other areas, including the percentage of students who improve from the year before.
