ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - Two women were shot and two other victims had their vehicles stolen in an attempted robbery that turned violent, according to officials from the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
The incident occurred Friday night in Taft, off of 6th Avenue. Deputies said both the gunshot victims and the theft victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Deputies said the suspect, whose name has not been released, attempted to rob one woman after meeting her to buy shoes. During the attempted robbery, a fight ensued that ended with the suspect shooting both the first woman and another woman who came outside to see what was going on, officials said.
According to a news release, after the shooting, the suspect attempted to flee by getting into a vehicle. The report states that he "drove approximately 10 feet" before crashing into a ditch.

Deputies from Osceola County brought attention to a possible suspect, who one of the victims identified as the man who stole their vehicle. Osceola deputies developed misdemeanor drug charges on that suspect and brought him to the Osceola County Jail.
Detectives from Orange County are in the process of investigating in Osceola County and have not formally pressed charges against the man.
