TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – State officials will release a report Wednesday detailing drug abuse and death.
Attorney General Pam Bondi and Florida Department of Law Enforcement Commissioner Gerald Bailey will release the 2011 Medical Examiners Drugs Identified in Deceased Persons Report.

A spokesperson for the Attorney General's office said the report will show that the enforcement efforts regarding prescription drug abuse appear to be paying off.
An interim version of the report that was conducted for January through June 2011 indicated that Benzodiazepines caused the most deaths in Florida.
Benzodiazepines classify a family of drugs that are most commonly used to treat anxiety and its symptoms. These include Xanax, Paxil, Klonopin.
The report specifically found that Alprazolam, the chemical name for Xanax and Paxil, caused the majority of the Benzodiazepine deaths.
Oxycodone, methadone, ethyl alcohol and cocaine also topped the list in the interim report.
Bondi and Bailey will release the full report Wednesday at a press conference at 11 am and discuss the correlation between its findings and the fight against prescription drug abuse.
