ORLANDO, Fla. - If your summer travel plans include packing up the family van and hitting the road, don't want to leave home without your smart phone loaded with a few handy apps.

Technology experts at C-Net suggest finding the perfect campsite before nightfall using the Camp Finder app. You can download it for $2.99. Plug in your location, the app will search through its database of 16-thousand campgrounds and RV parks to make local suggestions.

If you've got young kids in the backseat to entertain, there are a few car game apps for as little as 99 cents, which most parents would consider money well spent. C-NET suggest Roadtrip Bingo US for its varying degrees of difficulty and different categories of objects to search for like types of cars or road signs.

If you find yourself in the middle of nowhere and hungry, an app for nearby restaurants is always a good idea, especially ones that offer places with local flavor. For$2.99, the Classic American Diners app will connect you with all of the local dives in the area. Get directions, hours of operation and even reviews for more than one thousand greasy spoon locations coast-to-coast.

And don't forget, if you're traveling anywhere in Florida to download the ClickOrlando mobile app for updates on weather where you are.
