2 homes destroyed in Edgewater mobile home park fire

4 residents sent to hospital

EDGEWATER, Fla. – Four people were sent to the hospital and two homes were destroyed Saturday morning after a fire broke out at a mobile home park.

The fire happened right before 2 a.m. at the Riverview Pines Mobile Home Park on South Ridgewood Avenue in Edgewater.

According to Edgewater Fire Rescue, the fire broke out inside a mobile home in the park. The flames quickly spread to a second home, destroying it, and damaged the exterior of a third home nearby.

The residents inside those three homes were evacuated, along with residents in homes near the fire.

Of the four people taken to the hospital, only one of them sustained serious injuries.

Three pets, two dogs and one cat were killed in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the state Fire Marshal's Office.
