Dolphin washes ashore in Ormond Beach

2nd dolphin washes up dead on beach

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Volusia County Beach Patrol officials confirmed another dolphin washed ashore Saturday afternoon.

Officials said the dolphin, which was already dead, washed on shore around 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of north A1A in Ormond Beach.

Officials said Hubbs Sea World was called out to remove the dolphin off the beach.

Another dolphin washed on shore Thursday and had to be euthanized because of its injuries.

Officials will conduct a necropsy on the dolphins to determine the cause of death.
