SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. – A woman is accused of child neglect after a child was found alone in a Satellite Beach hotel room that was covered in “filth,” according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said Amanda Bragg, 33, was arrested Tuesday when a deputy assisted a Brevard County Animal Services officer responding to the hotel and found a young girl screaming inside a hotel room.

According to officials, the deputy heard the child and smelled a “foul odor of feline feces and urine” from outside the room due to the door being slightly open.

The sheriff’s office said the room was under Bragg’s name, who was found by another hotel guest in another room.

Deputies said the room was covered in “filth, feline urine and feces” and there was a pellet-style rifle in the corner of the room. The bathtub was also “full of water,” according to deputies.

Bragg faces a charge of child neglect.
