Investigators said the 22-year-old was driving a Nissan Altima west on S.R. 44 as a Honda Accord was heading east. The Nissan cross the center lane, sideswiping the Honda in the process, troopers said.

The Nissan then slammed into a pickup truck, leaving the driver seriously injured, according to the crash report. However, troopers said the driver of the pickup is expected to live.

Investigators said the 22-year-old, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
