U.S. Navy bombing range in Ocala (National Forest Service)

ORLANDO, Fla. – If you’re hearing loud booms at your home or office and you live near the Ocala National Forest, it’s just naval training.

The Navy will be conducting bombing exercises at the Pinecastle Range Complex on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The bombing exercises normally happen between 8 a.m. and until one hour before sunset.

Aside from the loud noise, wildlife may be temporarily displaced during the bombing period, and people living and driving in the area should use extra caution.

Parts of the Ocala National Forest may be temporarily closed because of the exercises as well.

If you have any noise complaints, the Navy has a phone number to register those at 1-800-874-5059.
