BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – Investigators in Brevard County released the names Friday of a 35-year-old woman who was shot to death and the 41-year-old man accused of pulling the trigger.

Deputies said Ashley Perala was found shot to death inside a home on Oriole Circle in Barefoot Bay on Tuesday.

Perala shared the home with William Chambless who claimed he was in another room when he heard voices and a gunshot, according to a news release.

Deputies said as they searched the property, they found a gun outside the home that matched the caliber used in the deadly shooting.

They added that Chambless was seen in the area where the gun was located following the shooting.

Chambless is locked up without bond facing charges of second-degree murder with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
