2 shocked while restoring power in New Smyrna Beach neighborhood, police say

Firefighters responded to Casello Drive and Airport Road

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – Two workers were shocked while restoring power to a New Smyrna Beach neighborhood, according to the police department.

The New Smyrna Beach Police Department said the fire department responded to Casello Drive and Airport Road around 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Police said a man in his 20s was taken to the hospital with critical injuries that included burns to his face, back, arms and hands.

The other worker was a woman in her 40s, but she had minor injuries and opted to not be taken to the hospital.

The department said the two workers appeared to be restoring power to the Venetian Bay neighborhood.
