Missing 12-year-old Polk County boy found safe

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A missing and endangered 12-year-old boy last seen Monday evening in Polk County was found safe.

Mason Miller had been last seen around 5 p.m. in the area of the 2100 block of Derwent Drive in the Davenport area. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said the boy was located and is safe.

A missing child alert was issued by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. This type of alert is issued when these criteria are met:

  • The child is under the age of 18.
  • Law enforcement has a well-founded belief, based on an active investigation, that the child is in danger of death or serious bodily injury.
  • There is a detailed description or photograph of the child to broadcast to the public.
  • The local law enforcement agency of jurisdiction recommends activation.
