Titusville pharmacist sentenced in narcotics case

ORLANDO, Fla. – A Titusville pharmacist will spend the next year behind bars.

Federal investigators say 47-year-old Basil Itani was trafficking large amounts of oxycodone and methadone. He was the owner of Itani Family Pharmacy when he was arrested in June.

Itani took a plea deal in September, pleading guilty to distributing a controlled substance.

In Orlando on Wednesday, federal Judge Roy Dalton sentenced Itani to 12 months and one day in prison.

He’s then set to be supervised for two years after he is released.
