Maitland cancels boil water notice

Water declared safe for consumption

MAITLAND, Fla. – A precautionary boil water notice that was issued Saturday for all municipal water utility customers in Maitland has been canceled, according to the city’s Public Works Department.

The advisory stemmed from impacts to potable water service throughout the city’s public service area caused by a mechanical failure Saturday at one of three city water plants, officials said.

In an update issued Monday, the city said the notice was “rescinded following completion of two consecutive days of satisfactory bacteriological tests confirming that potable water from the city’s public utility is safe for consumption.”
