Pedestrian critically injured after being struck by vehicle in Orlando’s tourism district, troopers say

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 17-year-old female pedestrian from Tampa is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Orlando Saturday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened just before 10 p.m. on Sand Lake Road and International Drive, a busy area in the heart of Orlando’s tourism district.

According to FHP, the pedestrian was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center for their injuries. The 17-year-old male Ocoee driver of the Hyundai Genesis remained on scene and was not injured.

Details on what led up to the crash are not known. The crash remains under investigation.
