APOPKA, Fla. – Police in Apopka evacuated businesses Friday night because of a gas leak in the downtown area.
The leak has been repaired and the roads are back open, according to the city.
The police department said Fifth Street was shut down from Park Avenue to Central Avenue, and Central was shut down from Main Street/US 441 to Station Street.
Businesses in that area include several restaurants, a food hall, a feed store, a hardware store, and the Apopka Community Center.
Police did not release a particular location for the gas leak, or what caused the leak.
