MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A 2-year-old was killed after a car pulled out of a home driveway on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
In a release, troopers said that the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. along 21st Place Road in Silver Springs.
At the time, a 2011 Acura SUV was backing out while a child who lived at the home was playing in the driveway, troopers added.

“The driver of the Acura was unable to observe the child behind the vehicle and, as a result, struck the child,” the release reads.
According to investigators, the child was taken to the hospital, where he ultimately died.
No additional information has been provided at this time.
