ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 21-year-old man was arrested at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom after he was accused of using a cellphone to secretly record video under a woman’s skirt while she waited in line for a ride.
Ryan Boufakeer of Orlando was taken into custody by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday night, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by News 6.
According to the affidavit, the incident occurred between approximately 7:05 and 7:15 p.m. while the victim was waiting in the Tron ride line. The victim told deputies she heard noises behind her, turned around and saw Boufakeer crouched on his hands and knees, holding a black iPhone with the camera angled upward toward her skirt.
The victim confronted Boufakeer and demanded he delete the video. According to the affidavit, Boufakeer showed her what appeared to be a deletion of the video, though the victim told deputies she could not confirm whether he deleted the recording of her or a different video.
Disney security later spotted a man matching the victim’s description on property. Boufakeer was detained and brought to the security office, where deputies read him his Miranda rights, and he agreed to speak with investigators.
The affidavit says Boufakeer said he was a chaperone for students at South Creek Chorus. When he was asked about “recording a lady,” the affidavit says Boufakeer told deputies he had crouched near an outlet to charge his phone and started recording while in that position. Boufakeer described the video as approximately 15 seconds long and told deputies he intended to keep it for sexual gratification, according to the affidavit.
When asked whether there were additional concerning images or videos on his phone, Boufakeer declined to answer without an attorney present, the affidavit states.
Boufakeer faces one count of video voyeurism, a felony under Florida law.
