Special education teacher drove to meet teen student for sex multiple times, Palm Bay police say

PALM BAY, Fla. – A former Brevard County employee was arrested after Palm Bay police said she was found with a 17-year-old male in a parked vehicle, and both admitted to engaging in sexual activity.

Michelle Lynn Hancock, 41, was taken into custody on Tuesday at the intersection of Dorchester Road NW and Ixora Avenue NW in Palm Bay, where she was spotted in a red pickup with the teen.

According to the arrest affidavit, Hancock was a special education teacher at Heritage High School in Palm Bay, where the victim once attended. Investigators said the two reconnected via text message in May 2026 and engaged in sexual activity multiple times at the same Palm Bay location.

Police said Hancock admitted to driving to pick up the teen each time they planned to meet, with the intent to engage in sexual activity. Investigators also say she sent the victim explicit images of herself via text message. Both the victim’s and Hancock’s phones were collected as evidence.

Hancock faces multiple felony charges, including engaging in sexual conduct with a student by an authority figure, unlawful sexual activity with certain minors, lewd and lascivious touching of certain minors, traveling to meet a minor, unlawful use of an electronic device to solicit a minor, and transmission of material harmful to minors by electronic device.

Hancock was booked into the Brevard County Jail. She was contracted as a school employee through July 2026, according to the affidavit.
