Samsung to recall 2.8 million washing machines

Recall includes 34 top-load models

Samsung is recalling 2.8 million of its top-load washing machines.

The company has received 733 reports of the lids on the top of the machines sporadically detaching and the washers excessively vibrating, according to the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Nine of the reports have caused injuries, including a broken jaw, a broken shoulder and other fall-related injuries.

The recall includes 34 models of the machine.

Samsung is recommending that customers check the model number of their machines, and contact the company if the washer is on the list of recalled models.
