Man shot, stabbed in construction area of Florida Mall ID'd, deputies say

Victim found with gunshot wound in head, Sheriff's Office says

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man with a gunshot wound was found a construction area near The Florida Mall.

Deputies responded to the 8000 block of South Orange Blossom Trail around 10 p.m. 

Once they arrived, deputies found Dale Floren, 56, unresponsive in the construction area with a gunshot wound in the head, the Sheriff's Office said. Deputies said Floren had also been stabbed. He was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, deputies said.

The Sheriff's Office said Floren had arrived for construction work shortly after the mall closed.

Crimeline is offering a $5,000 reward for information about the incident.
