ORLANDO – Tracy McGrady is back with the Orlando Magic. But this time, he's trading in his uniform for a business suit.

The organization announced Friday that McGrady will join their front office as a special assistant to the CEO, according to the NBA. His duties to the organization will include helping players and coaches on and off the court, assisting and advising the executive team and becoming a part of marketing and community relations activities.

"I am thrilled to be back where I truly made a name for myself, with the Orlando Magic," McGrady said.

As the leader of the Magic's "heart and hustle" era of basketball, McGrady was a four-time NBA All-Star and led the league in scoring twice during his 2000-2004 stint with the Magic.

McGrady holds the highest scoring average in Orlando Magic history and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame this year.

"Having Tracy McGrady, a perennial All-Star and a Hall-of-Famer, on our staff is tremendous for our entire organization," Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins said.

The Orlando Magic begin their regular season at the Amway Center on Oct. 18 against the Miami Heat.
