Last Friday, I attended a media preview for Fat One’s Hot Dogs and Italian Ice, hosted by the founders, *NSYNC’s Joey Fatone and his manager Joe Mulvihill, who shared how their Universal Orlando roots helped shape the concept.
You can tell they’ve worked together for a long time based on their chemistry, and this venture genuinely means something to them.
Fatone described himself as a ketchup-only kind of guy, but emphasized embracing adventurous flavors. Growing up in close proximity to Chicago, I come from the camp that considers ketchup taboo on a hot dog.
A Chicago dog isn’t listed as a signature option, but maybe it’ll find a place on the menu someday.
I also asked Joey what’s more fulfilling: hearing someone rave about his music or his food?
As expected, he chose food, explaining that this is something he and Joe built from the ground up. Joey’s favorite is the Angelo, named after his character in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”, while Joe’s is the Cubano.
