3 of 4 Florida teams in NCAA tournament to play in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – Four Florida teams begin their quest to reach the Final Four in Glendale, Ariz., this week — and three of those teams will be playing in Orlando.

The Florida Gators will be playing at Orlando’s Amway Center on Thursday. The Gators (24-8) will face East Tennessee State University (27-7) in the opening round at 2:10 p.m. The winner of that game faces the winner of the Virginia-UNC Wilmington contest.

In the West Regional, Florida State (25-8) meets Florida Gulf Coast (26-7) also on Thursday at 8:20 p.m. in Orlando’s Amway Center. Maryland or Xavier awaits that winner.

NCAA tournament bracket revealed on Selection Sunday Miami will be in the Midwest Regional. The Hurricanes (21-11) face Michigan State (19-14) at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla., on Friday at 8:20 p.m., with the winner possibly playing Kansas (28-4) in the next game.

UCF will also play in Orlando at the NIT tournament. The first round will be played Wednesday at 7 p.m. at CFE Arena.
