Pop-Tarts Bowl

No. 12 BYU and No. 22 Georgia Tech will meet in the 2025 Pop-Tarts Bowl, Florida Citrus Sports announced Sunday.

The game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27, at Camping World Stadium.

The matchup marks the fifth all-time meeting between the Cougars (11-2, 8-1 Big 12) and the Yellow Jackets (9-3, 6-2 ACC), and the first since 2013. BYU has won three of the previous four contests.

BYU, the runner-up in Saturday’s Big 12 championship game, will make its first Pop-Tarts Bowl appearance and third overall bowl trip to Orlando. The Cougars lost in two previous Citrus Bowl games, falling to Ohio State in 1985 and Oklahoma State in 1976.

Georgia Tech will play in the Pop-Tarts Bowl for the third time. The Yellow Jackets defeated West Virginia in the 1997 game before the contest relocated to Orlando, and later beat Syracuse in the 2004 edition. Georgia Tech also topped Nebraska in the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1, 1991, earning a share of the national championship.

Dubbed “The People’s National Championship,” the 2025 Pop-Tarts Bowl will be the 36th edition of the game and the 25th played in Orlando after 11 years in South Florida. Iowa State edged Miami 42-41 in last year’s contest, the second to feature Pop-Tarts as title sponsor. In 2023, Kansas State defeated NC State 28-19 in the first bowl game to introduce an Edible Mascot.

This year’s game will also include a record six mascots — Team Sprinkles and Team Swirls — squaring off in a first-of-its-kind showdown. Following the final whistle, an entire team of Edible Mascots will be chosen to be devoured by the 2025 Pop-Tarts Bowl champions.

Cheez-It Citrus Bowl

No. 13 Texas and No. 18 Michigan will square off in the 2025 Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, Florida Citrus Sports announced Sunday.

The 80th edition of Orlando’s New Year’s Classic is set for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Camping World Stadium.

The matchup marks just the third all-time meeting between the Longhorns (9-3, 6-2 SEC) and Wolverines (9-3, 7-2 Big Ten). Texas won both previous contests, including a 2024 regular-season victory in Ann Arbor and a memorable 38-37 triumph over Michigan in the 2005 Rose Bowl. This year’s bowl appearance will be the Longhorns’ first postseason trip to Orlando.

Michigan will be making a record-setting seventh appearance in the Citrus Bowl and its first since 2020. The Wolverines are 4-2 in six previous contests, with wins over Florida (2016 and 2008), Auburn (2001) and Arkansas (1999). A victory over Texas would tie Michigan with Tennessee (5-1) for the all-time lead in Citrus Bowl wins.

The game will feature the highly anticipated comeback of mascot Prince Cheddward, returning to the sidelines after years of fan requests. Following the game, fans can enjoy a free postgame concert by multi-platinum country artist Jordan Davis, who will help Orlando celebrate the arrival of 2026.
