Girl with cancer finally granted Disney wish

Dad denied Make-A-Wish trip to Orlando for 4-year-old

ORLANDO, Fla. – Winning a two-year battle with leukemia, 4-year-old McKenna May is finally getting her wish granted and making a dream trip to Disney World.

McKenna, who lives in Ohio, was granted the trip by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, but couldn't go after her father refused to sign off on the visit. He says he wanted the trip to go to a child who was sicker.

After several media outlets reported that McKenna's wish was denied donations streamed in to her mother and grandmother. With the help of Pennsylvania-based charity Jamie's Dream Team, McKenna and her family will arrive in Orlando Friday.

Jamie's Dream Team took care of McKenna's family's travel expenses, while Give Kids The World, of Kissimmee, will provide accommodations, Disney tickets, meals and entertainment.

McKenna's family will stay in the villas at Give Kids The World for four nights and get passes to Disney's parks for three days. McKenna is making the trip with her mom, grandparents and siblings.

The four year old was diagnosed with leukemia in 2010 and doctors say she's doing great, but it's too early to call her cancer-free.
