BAY LAKE, Fla. – Fans of the Disney+ original series “The Mandalorian” got a big surprise Wednesday at Walt Disney World.
Inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, fans of the show were greeted by the Mandalorian and the small Grogu character, AKA Baby Yoda.
The special appearances came on the same day that season three of series arrived to eager fans on Disney’s streaming platform, Disney+.

Disney said in season 3, the journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.
Last year during the D23 Expo, “The Mandalorian” executive producer Jon Favreau announced that the characters would first be making appearances at Disneyland. On Monday, Disneyland Paris announced the characters would be making appearances at its park for a limited time from March 1 through 14.
Walt Disney World said the Mandalorian and Grogu will be joining other characters throughout Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and will be seen on a regular basis.
