ORLANDO, Fla. – The shift to cashless payments continues at Florida theme parks, as Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay prepares to go fully cashless on Feb. 25.
According to Universal, guests can only pay with credit or debit cards, Universal Pay, Universal Gift Cards, or tap-to-pay methods at the water park. Visitors bringing cash must use cash-to-card kiosks to load funds onto a Visa prepaid card, which works inside the park and anywhere Visa is accepted.
Guests will still be able to use cash elsewhere at Universal Orlando Resort, including Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Universal Epic Universe.
SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica adopted cashless operations in August 2023. These parks accept credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Cash users can convert money at kiosks to a Visa prepaid card with no fees.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has been fully cashless since August 2023, accepting only cards and smart device payments for dining, shopping, and parking. Cash users can convert money at kiosks to a Visa prepaid card with no fees.
Walt Disney World still accepts cash at quick-service and table-service dining and most merchandise stores, but many snack carts at parks are now cashless. Guests with cash can buy Disney Gift Cards inside the parks to use at cashless locations.
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex transitioned to cashless payments. Cash-to-card kiosks convert cash to MasterCard prepaid cards usable anywhere MasterCard is accepted, with no fees.
The “Alligator Capital of the World” still accepts cash for purchases throughout the park.
Fun Spot America still accepts cash alongside cards. Fun Spot uses a “Fun E-Card” system for in-park purchases, which can be loaded with cash or card but not used for admission.
