Set after the events of the 2001 Pixar film, the land places guests inside a Monstropolis now powered by laughter — and ready for human visitors for the very first time.

The occasion even has a name: H.U.M.A.N. Day, short for “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice.”

Guests can expect to explore monster storefronts, dine at the iconic Harryhausen’s restaurant, and visit the Glob Theater as they take in the sights and sounds of the beloved monster city.

The centerpiece of the land is Disney’s first-ever suspended roller coaster, set inside the Monsters, Inc. door vault.

“You’ll go into the factory and experience the first suspended coaster ever in a Disney park,” said Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro in 2024. “Remember in the movie how those claws grab the doors and hoist them up into the air to take them away? We’re doing that, too. And you’re going along for the ride.”

No opening date has been announced.
