The event in Tampa is named for Jose Gaspar, a Spanish pirate dubbed the “Last of the Buccaneers," hence the name of the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team. The next parade is now set for Jan. 29, 2022, preceded by a children's parade on Jan. 22.

The lawsuit claims Daytona Lagoon did not have adequate supervision or safety precautions when Kaiden Lawson drowned on Aug. 3, 2019. The wave pool was also very crowded with an “unsafe number of patrons,” according to the lawsuit. Daytona Beach Fire Department previously told News 6 the boy was swimming in the wave pool with his family before he was taken out. Daytona Lagoon asks all guests 42 inches tall or shorter to wear one as a safety precaution when choosing to enjoy its wave pool.

Attorneys for Morgan and Morgan filed a personal injury lawsuit on behalf of 13 employees at The Golf Channel, who worked near Lockheed Martin’s facility at 5600 Sand Lake Road. The Golf Channel building is located on the other side of Sand Lake Road from Lockheed Martin. The Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control are located in the facility off Sand Lake Road. It is our company practice not to comment on pending litigation,” Brittny Sherlock, a Lockheed Martin spokesperson, said in an email.
