Orange County Citizens Advisory Committee says use of force policy needs adjustments, lists recommendations
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. The Orange County Sheriffs Office Citizens Advisory Committee has submitted its use of force policy recommendations to Sheriff John Mina outlining improvements to the agencys new duty to intervene policy. Its nine members met virtually during the coronavirus pandemic to formulate best practices and review the sheriffs office policies. The sheriffs office should also further clarify if and when chokeholds are permitted. The second set of recommendations asks the sheriffs office to revise its language surrounding its excessive force policy, the committee asking to include this policy directly with the agencys overall use of force policy. Deputies investigating suspicious death near Osceola County McDonalds
OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. An investigation into what deputies are calling a suspicious death is underway in Osceola County, according to the sheriffs office. Deputies said the investigation was underway Friday afternoon at 3191 S. John Young Parkway. A Google Maps search shows a McDonalds fast-food restaurant at the same address. OCSO is on the scene of a suspicious death located in the area of 3191 S. John Young Parkway. Deputies have not said why the death is being considered suspicious or if anyone has been taken into custody.

The victim told deputies she pulled her car into her garage after a trip to the grocery store on July 8 at 11:22 a.m. and went inside to put her purse down. According to the incident report, the woman demanded the 74-year-old victim's money, credit cards and PIN numbers to her cards. The woman told the victim she was armed and her boyfriend was in a car outside.
